ISACA’s Advanced in AI Security Management (AAISM™) is a specialist programme for experienced security and risk professionals who need to govern and secure AI across the enterprise. The course examines how AI is reshaping the threat landscape and provides practical approaches to identify and manage AI specific risks, design effective policies and controls and embed responsible AI use throughout the organisation.

Structured around key domains including AI governance and programme management, AI technologies and controls and AI risk management, it also serves as preparation for the ISACA AAISM certification exam, enabling participants to evidence credible, vendor neutral assurance in this rapidly developing field.

This course is for security, risk and governance professionals who need to understand how to manage and secure AI systems, including those responsible for policy, assurance, compliance, AI oversight or the practical implementation of controls within organisations adopting AI.

Exam Details

Format: 90 multiple choice questions
Duration: 150 minutes
Delivery: Computer based testing through authorised PSI centres or via ISACA’s remote proctoring option

Scoring: Scaled score between 200 and 800. A minimum score of 450 is required to pass.

Certification Requirements

To earn the AAISM (Advanced in AI Security Management) certification, candidates must:

Pass the AAISM Exam

Experience: Have a minimum of three years of cumulative work experience in cyber security, information security, risk management or governance.
No experience waivers are currently offered for AAISM.

Application: Submit the certification application after passing the exam, confirming professional experience.

Adhere to ISACA’s Code of Professional Ethics

Continuing Professional Education (CPE): Comply with AAISM’s maintenance requirements, which include earning 10 CPE hours annually and 30 CPE hours over a three year period to keep the certification active.
